The Dr. Ambedkar Awas Yojana is a housing welfare program aimed at providing financial help to Scheduled Castes and those below the poverty line.

Families who either do not own a house or need to repair their existing kutcha or dilapidated house.

The scheme ensures safe and dignified housing, with state-level variants like the Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojna in Haryana (for repairs) and the Ambedkar Vasati Yojana in Gujarat (for new construction).

Eligibility Criteria

Criteria Requirement
Residency Must be a permanent resident (domicile) of Haryana
Income/Poverty Status Family must be BPL (Below Poverty Line) OR annual family income ≤ ₹180,000 (as per Parivar Pahchan Patra)
Category Primarily for Scheduled Caste (SC) families; in some cases, also covers BPL families from other categories
House Ownership The house must be in the applicant’s name
Age of House The house must be at least 10 years old
Condition of House The house should be in repairable condition (not completely collapsed)
Previous Benefits Applicant must not have received house repair / renovation assistance from any other government scheme earlier

Documents Required

  • Aadhaar Card (identity & address proof)
  • Caste Certificate (for SC applicants)
  • BPL Card or Parivar Pahchan Patra (PPP) showing annual income ≤ ₹1,80,000
  • Proof of house ownership (registry, allotment letter, or property papers)
  • Proof of house age (certificate from local authority / supporting documents to show house is ≥10 years old)
  • Recent photographs of the house (before renovation)
  • Bank passbook (first page) or cancelled cheque (for DBT transfer)
  • Ration Card / Voter ID / any residence proof
  • Self-declaration form (confirming no prior benefit under similar schemes)
  • Death certificate of spouse (if widow applicant)

Application Process

Online Application (preferred)

  1. Visit the Saral Haryana Portal
  2. Register as a new user (if not already registered).
  3. Login with your credentials (ID & password).
  4. Search for “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana” under schemes/services.
  5. Fill out the online application form with required details.
  6. Upload scanned copies of all required documents (Aadhaar, caste certificate, BPL/PPP, house proof, photos, etc.).
  7. Submit the application and note down the application ID for tracking.
  8. Track application status anytime through the Saral Haryana portal.

Offline Application (alternative)

  • Collect the application form from the District Welfare Officer (SC/BC) office or nearby CSC (Common Service Centre).
  • Fill in all details correctly and attach self-attested copies of required documents.
  • Submit the form at the District Welfare Office / Tehsil Office / CSC.
  • Obtain a receipt or acknowledgement number for future tracking.
