Launched in 2017 and revised in 2022 as PMMVY 2.0, the scheme provides financial support.

To ensure safe motherhood, proper nutrition, and reduced maternal and infant mortality for pregnant women and lactating mothers.

The scheme offers ₹5,000 in three installments, linked to pregnancy registration, antenatal check-ups, and post-delivery with child immunization.

In some states, when combined with Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), the total benefit can be up to ₹6,000. The amount is directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.
